Chicken Soup for the Soul Large Breed Adult is a grain-inclusive dry dog food formulated for large and giant breed adult dogs. It uses chicken and turkey as the primary proteins, combined with wholesome grains like barley, brown rice, oatmeal, and rice, plus legumes, fish, duck, fruits, vegetables, glucosamine, and probiotics. It is designed to support joint health, controlled growth/maintenance, digestion, and overall mobility in larger dogs.

This formula is generally considered a balanced mid-range large-breed maintenance diet, with added joint support nutrients and moderate protein/fat levels suitable for big dogs.

Feed according to your dog’s weight, age, activity level, and body condition. For large breed adults, typical daily feeding amounts are approximately 2½ cups for a 40 lb dog, 3½ cups for a 60 lb dog, 4⅓ cups for an 80 lb dog, 5 cups for a 100 lb dog, and up to 6½–6¾ cups for very large dogs around 140–150 lb, with adjustments based on activity level and metabolism. Active dogs may require more, while less active or overweight dogs may need reduced portions. Puppies or pregnant/nursing dogs require different formulations and higher caloric intake than this adult formula. Transition gradually over 7–10 days by mixing increasing amounts of the new food with the previous diet to avoid digestive upset. Always provide fresh drinking water.
