Feed according to your dog’s weight, age, activity level, and body condition. Small dogs around 5 lb require about ⅓ cup per day, 10 lb dogs about 1 cup, 20 lb dogs about 1½ cups, 30 lb dogs about 2¼ cups, 40 lb dogs about 2⅔ cups, 60 lb dogs about 3⅔ cups, 80 lb dogs about 4½ cups, and 100 lb dogs about 5⅓ cups per day. Adjust portions based on whether your senior dog is more active or less active, and reduce feeding if weight gain occurs. Transition gradually over 7–10 days by mixing with the previous food to avoid digestive upset. Always provide fresh drinking water.
